Hence, we provide a host of co-curricular activities such as Music, Dance, Drawing & Painting, Elocutions & Debates, Reading & Writing and Art & Craft, and extracurricular activities such as Basketball, Dance, Chess and many more!
With such a well-structured and evolved education programme, the child is sure to develop innate abilities and evolve holistically, becoming a responsible citizen contributing to the community in which she/he grows.

A student of three years enters the gates of Gorton Mission School, Kotgarh backed up by the hopes of Academic education, moral values and skill inputs cherished by his/her parents. A journey of 17 years from Nursery to Std. XII marks the various mile stones leading to the fulfillment of the hopes and dreams cherished by his parents added with his/her own urges and needs. When he/she leaves the portals of Gorton Mission School, Kotgarh passing out Std XII his/her career options are clearly defined which will cruise him/her through the ever expanding ocean of the so called LIFE.

Our School
Gorton Mission School, Kotgarh instituted by the Educational Trust in March 2000 has in its brief span attained the status of one of the most progressive quality educational institution of Shimla. The Chairman of the School, Mr. Binda Singh has set a lofty aim to nurture brotherhood and scientific temper in students and make them achievers in real life.The principal of the school, Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Vice Principal Mrs. Anita Tiwari provides every opportunity to the teachers to improve effectiveness in teaching methods and professional standards of teachers by conducting as well as organizing regular in-service training sessions for them.
Infrastructure
The school has an excellent infrastructure well spread over in 1 acres of land. Though at present it has 24 ventilated classrooms with well equipped smart board, 6 staff rooms, 2 activity rooms, 1 examination cell, 1 teaching aids room and 1 auditorium. Its future plan is to expand its operational area to cope with heavy demand of admission of students in various classes. Apart from that, the school is equipped with well stocked library and separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Two Air conditioned Computer labs with high configuration latest computers with online UPS Backup.
The well stuffed activity rooms ensure that a child does not only has his/her mental and physical abilities trimmed through toys or songs or recitation alone, but partakes in the development process through the playful delights of swings, slides and play station in the technically conceptualized playground.
Updated computers for technology integrated education and a book store to give students and parents a respite from the rigors of text books hunting are the additional facets of this institution with vision set on a better and brighter tomorrow.
Also the parents are relieved from the tension of taking the children to school personally as the school provides transportation facilities at a very subsidized rate.
School Events
There are various curricular and co-curricular activities spread throughout the year in order to give opportunities to the students to shape their personality which in the long run would give an edge to their academic and professional career. We are nurturing young minds and preparing them to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the global community.
Along with reflective and experimental learning for the development of multiple intelligences, we also offer a plethora of extra curricular activities which include Arts, Dance, Singing etc. We offer sports like cricket, football, volley ball, basket ball, kho kho, kabaddi, tennis etc. An annual prize nite, sports day, school fete etc are organised every year. This year due to COVID- 19 pandemic many activities were cancelled or conducted virtually.
- Students Zone Activities: Students have an inherent urge and a great desire to discover themselves. A number of contests are held to bring out the hidden talents, to develop confidence among children, improve their sills, inculcate healthy competitive spirit and prepare them to meet the various challenges in their career.
- School Fest: A refreshing event in which palatable and mouth watering food items and mind boggling games are featured. There is also a display of art and craft work by students of different classes.
- Annual Sports: The most awaited event in the school calendar, which consists of colorful display of a wide range of events like the drills, fancy events from Primary sections, track and field events. The nearly 5 hours events enthral the spectators. The brilliant performance by the students were commendable.
- Annual Prize Nite:The Annual Prize Nite, featuring prize distribution and cultural programmes is yet another event which all students and teacher’s look forward to. Various categories of prized are given away to motivate the children.
- Online Inter-House Quiz Competition: Quiz competitions are held to bring the confidence and talent hidden in the students.
- Inter Class Spelling Contest: Spelling play an important role in the life of students. Perfection in spellings can be attained through this competition.
- Online Inter House Patriotic Song Competition: To inculcate the feeling of patriotism, a patriotic song competition is held for the 4 houses. Music touches the chords of the heart and there is no better way of expressing one’s love for motherland.
- Inter-House Bulletin Board Competition: To encourage working in unison, this competition has been instituted. Also the students gain varied knowledge of various subjects through such interactive activities.
- Inter-House Elocution and Debate Contest: Elocution and debate contest are a must to install self confidence in public speaking. The platform provided by such contest pave way for a bright future in every field.
- Inter Class Online Recitation Competition: Poetry is literature based on interplay of words and rhythm. beauty is the realm of poetry. Children enjoy the beauty of expression, thought, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Keeping all this into consideration, the children exhibit their talent and confidence
